Ambitions Gymnastics

Membership Terms & Conditions

By enrolling in and participating in Ambitions Gymnastics programmes, all members, parents/guardians and participants agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. These conditions exist to ensure the safety and well-being of all gymnasts, staff and visitors, and to protect the club’s reputation, legal standing and affiliation with British Gymnastics.

1. Behaviour and Conduct (Participants, Parents & Guardians)

All gymnasts are expected to follow reasonable coaching instructions at all times to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.

Ambitions Gymnastics operates a zero-tolerance policy towards:

  • Aggressive, abusive, threatening or intimidating behaviour
  • Verbal abuse, harassment or discriminatory language
  • Physical threats or actions
  • Bullying or persistent disruptive behaviour

This applies to gymnasts, parents, guardians, carers and any accompanying adults, whether directed toward coaching staff, volunteers, other members or spectators.

Any such behaviour may result in:

  • Immediate removal from the session
  • Suspension or termination of membership without refund

The club reserves the right to refuse entry or participation to anyone whose behaviour is deemed unsafe or inappropriate.

2. Fees

All term fees must be paid in full by the first week of each block to maintain membership and participation.

3. Conditions of Payment

All fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

British Gymnastics membership fees may be transferred between clubs upon completion of the relevant transfer process.

4. Collection of Participants

All gymnasts must be dropped off and collected by a responsible adult. Gymnasts will not be permitted to leave the premises unless a parent or guardian is present and visible to staff.

5. Dress Code

Gymnasts must wear appropriate clothing for physical activity:

  • Hair must be neatly tied back
  • No jewellery (small stud earrings permitted)
  • No school uniform
  • No skirts, denim, zips or hard fastenings, as these present safety risks and may damage equipment

6. Spectators

For safety and space reasons, parents/guardians are not permitted to spectate after-school or Saturday classes.

Spectators are permitted at preschool classes.

Adult supervision is a condition of attending Teeny Tots sessions.

7. Club Membership, Affiliation & Insurance

All participants must hold current membership with both Ambitions Gymnastics and British Gymnastics for insurance and participation purposes. Associated fees are payable upon joining.

8. Fitness for Participation

Parents/guardians are responsible for informing the club of any medical conditions, injuries or additional needs that may affect a child’s ability to participate safely.

9. Medication

If a child requires medication during class time:

  • Medication must be brought to every session
  • The child must be able to self-administer (exception: EpiPens)
  • Medication must be clearly labelled with the child’s name
  • Coaches must be informed that medication is being carried

10. Data Protection

All personal data collected by the club is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Information will only be used for registration, welfare, legal, safeguarding and insurance purposes and may be shared with relevant third parties where required.

11. Safeguarding, Photography & Videography

Photography and videography by parents or other adults is not permitted during classes.

Where possible, arrangements may be made for photos at the end of a session, though this cannot be guaranteed.

Coaching staff may take photos or videos for promotional or media purposes. If you do not consent to your child being included, this must be indicated on the registration form.

12. Termination of Membership

Please notify the club via email or message if your child no longer wishes to attend.

  • Membership and insurance fees are non-refundable
  • British Gymnastics membership may be transferable if moving to another club
  • Term fees are non-refundable

If a participant withdraws with more than half the term remaining, a partial refund may be considered at the club’s discretion on a case-by-case basis.

13. Illness and Injury

If a child arrives at a session and is deemed too unwell to participate, parents/guardians will be contacted and asked to collect them immediately.

In the event of injury during a session:

  • First aid will be administered by qualified staff
  • The incident will be recorded
  • If an injury is serious, an ambulance may be called before contacting parents/guardians
